Description
It's 1895 and work is underway to build a huge breakwater in Sandy Bay off Rockport, MA. Rockport Granite Co. and Pigeon Hill Granite Co. are contracted to suppy the granitge for the job. The picture depicts the steam tug "Cornelia" standing by while the stone sloop "America" and the steam lighter "Benj. Harrison" place granite blocks and bubble for the project.
