I specialize in marine art, seascapes and boats as well as fishing and fish. I am a member of the Strawbridge Art League in Melbourne, Florida where I live. I studied in Gloucester, Massachusetts with Margaret Taylor and Robert Benham. Anton Stetzko, the watercolorist, greatly stimulated my artistic ability while i was living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts from 2002 to 2006. My early work was in oils and watercolor but I am currently working in the mixed media of Acrylic, Pen & Ink. My painting leans heavily toward seascapes, nautical and tall ship subjects. I am from a fishing family in Gloucester, Ma. and proud of my family and the city's heritage which is reflected in much of my work. I try to paint realistic historical subjects like famous Gloucester fishing schooners, Maine trading schooners and Indian River wind and steam driven boats and ships. I also like to show people in my pictures. I look at of my marine paintings as telling a story - sometimes obvious and oftime subtle.

Therese A. Kraemer is my wife and partner in Indian River Artists Studio. She has published several books of poetry and children's stories which she also illustrates. In addition, she has illustrated books for other writers. Therese specializes in Pencil portraits of Children as well as Pen & Ink portraits Cats and Dogs and wild animals. If you are interested in having a portrait done of your pet, please review her work on this site. Therese will do your dog or cat and the you will receive the original signed portrait and a signed copy . Orignals are done on 100 pound Art Vellum paper and the copy on Card Stock. We founded Indian River Artists Studio in January, 2011 to feature my paintings and Therese's sketches. From time to time we may feature fine artwork of others which is for sale by us.
